Nasher Sculpture Center

So thanks once again to my creative husband, we discovered this gem of a free family activity in Dallas!  On the first Saturday of each month, the Nasher Sculpture Center (along with Target as a sponsor) offers free admissions along with family activities throughout the day, many targeting children.  We all know that I am a sucker for art museums, and this one did not disappoint!  Here's a link to the schedule of events for the day: Target First Saturdays.

We went in January and we ALL had a wonderful time!  There was a scavenger hunt where the kids had to identify a sculpture based on a picture of a part of it, then after they (meaning I) wrote down title and artist for each piece, they got a prize- this time it was a pencil bag, and we have put it to good use!  My favorite was the Alexander Calder mobile piece and they had a Rodin as well!  The center is indoor as well as a large outdoor garden and the kids loved getting some fresh air.  We headed downstairs where they each got a notebook to fill with things that "INSPIRE" them- we got there at the tail end, so we brought it home and have been filling it with inspiration each Sunday in our church bag.:)

So if you and your family are looking for a great, free activity (we did have to pay for parking, but it was $5 for all day in a lot just South of the museum), then head on over this Saturday to the Nasher Sculpture Center!
