Pirate Birthday Party

So my oldest just had his 5th birthday.  We have decided that we can't do  parties every year for every child, but we'll let them do a friend party for their 5th, 8th, and 12 th birthdays...

The invitations:

 The birthday sign:
 The cake uncovered:
The finished product: (All edible except for the figurines and the pole)

The party:  While waiting for all of the guests to arrive, we colored a treasure map on the table and pictures of Jake & the Neverland Pirates birthday page found here.

The start of the treasure hunt: we had clues from a pirate friend that led us on an adventure

Here are the clues...

We swabbed the deck (shot balls with a broom between soccer cones)
We hopped on one leg like Peg Leg Pete down the hallway and back
We did an obstacle course, complete with walking the plank...

We played "Pin the Parrot on the Pirate"

And finally tracked down the Pirate Booty in the boot of daddy's car!:)

The treasure included Pirate Patches and headbands for all our crew

We enjoyed cake and ice cream

Then the birthday boy opened some of the greatest treasures ever!  He loved it all!

All-in-all, I felt like it was pretty successful, especially considering it was my first birthday party ever!:)
